The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Psychiatry to join the Norwich City Community Service for working age adults City 1 Team. The post has become vacant due to the current post holder moving jobs.

\n

The Norwich City teams are committed to developing effective and safe services and are proud of initiatives developed to improve services. The Norwich City teams have no wait list for patients for medical reviews. They are also part of the pilot project as part of the Personality Disorder pathways which has successfully trained colleagues within the teams on Dialectical Behaviour approaches and are currently in the process of identifying the service users best suited for inclusion in this project.

Responsibilities\n

There are 2 community mental health teams covering the City of Norwich. This post is part of the team aligns to the East Norwich and North Norwich Primary Care Networks. These networks are comprised of 11 different GP practices supporting a total population of 114,233 patients. The population covered live primarily in moderately affluent communities but with some areas of deprivation and includes offering support to 3 community residential care and supported living providers at Kemps Place, Klair House and Treeview Court.

Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust delivers its core services to adults and older people within Care Groups that are co-terminus with the newly formed primary care networks. The posts sit within the Norwich and North Norfolk Care Group which covers the Primary Care Networks within Norwich and North Norfolk.

\n

Within the Norwich and North Norfolk Care Group you will be part of a group of consultant colleagues in disciplines ranging from old age, general adult to rehab. psychiatrists.

\n

The City community teams see people between the ages of 25 - 70. Whether someone aged 70 - 75yrs is seen by the working age adult or older persons service is determined by the needs of the person.

Qualifications\n
    \n
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • \n
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
  • \n
  • Additional clinical qualifications
  • \n

  • A clear understanding of Clinical Governance
  • \n
  • Demonstrate a commitment to open review of practice
  • \n
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • \n
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months
  • \n
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
  • \n
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
  • \n
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

Transport\n

  • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative
