Learning Support Assistant (ASD Specialist – KS1)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Key Stage 1.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD.
\n
• Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
\n
• Implement strategies to promote communication, social development, and emotional regulation.
\n
• Assist with the delivery of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
\n
• Support positive behaviour management and encourage independence.
\n
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs.
\n
• Monitor progress and provide feedback on pupil development.
\n
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Experience supporting children with ASD, ideally within a primary setting.
\n
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
\n
• Understanding of SEND and autism-friendly support strategies.
\n
• Strong communication skills and a patient, proactive approach.
\n
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
